Reading/Language Arts:  Spelling Test Friday on words 1-20 from SWB page 37 and the words numerator and denominator.  Habitats Chart on the white paper is due Monday.  (Content, spelling and neatness count)

Social Studies:  Review vocabulary from "Conflict in the Colonies," study notes and list of 13 colonies (be able to sort them into New England, Middle and Southern)

5th grade Homework Reward/Mixer is Friday - Students may bring a snack/drink and a game

Reading/Language Arts:  Spelling Test is Friday. 
Period 1:  Complete Vocab WS and Fact and Opinion WS.
Period 2:  Finish "Habitats" Chart in your notebook.  Refer to the leveled reader to make sure that the information is complete.
Periods 1 and 2 will create a chart on white drawing paper to summarize main ideas.  The work that you did in your notebook is the "rough draft."(I will provide the paper.) Chart is due Monday. 

Social Studies:  We finished reading "Conflict in the Colonies."  Study the vocabulary that is on the last page of this book.  Study the list of colonies so that you know which ones are New England, Middle and Southern.  Review the notes.

4.  Who is Caitlin Alegre?
5.  Who is Lisa Thomas?

Sentences 1, 2 and 3:  verb phrase has 2 words
Sentence 4:  verb phrase has 3 words
Sentence 5:  verb phrase has 2 words (tricky adjective in-between the 2 verbs)
Sentence 6:  there are 2 verbs

Social Studies:  Please finish Jamestown maps at home if you have the necessary supplies.

Reading:  no homework
What we have been doing:  Students are writing informational essays.  Also, they have been reading (carefully and thoughtfully) in small groups to improve fluency, identify main ideas and draw conclusions.  They are also practicing writing/identifying similes and metaphors.

Social Studies:  Please make sure that you are finished drawing and coloring the Jamestown map.  You do not need to cut it out.

Social Studies:  Please finish labeling and coloring Jamestown Map so that you are ready to trace and complete the rest of the activity in class.

Tomorrow, students may wear crazy hats or crazy hair for "Hats off for no bullying."

Refer to your notes to help you plan your essay.
