Students wrote an essay to respond to Thunder Rose and Measuring Tornadoes. The challenge was to organize the information to answer the prompt. They had to determine the rating and damage level of the tornadoes in Thunder Rose and cite text evidence (words and illustrations) to support their answers. They had good ideas!

Also, label U.S. map - due Tuesday. Use the map on page R8 in your book. Write the name of each state neatly. Do not abbreviate. If you cannot fit the name of the state within its borders, draw a line and write its name outside of the border. (Look at how Rhode Island was labeled on page R9 for an example.)
