Reading/Language Arts:  Spelling Test is Friday.  Please begin studying the words from RWB page 44.  You do not have to complete RWB page 44.  Finish writing the rough draft of your autobiographical poem.  Please cover your reading book by Tuesday.

Social Studies:  Please cover the book by Tuesday.

Homeroom:  September Calendar and Volunteer Forms were sent home today.
Students:  Please submit your drawing by Tuesday for our homeroom's  "Design the Recycling Box" contest.  This is optional!
**I am encouraging the students to only pack what they need for each class in order to help them become organized.  They may refer to a checklist that is on the board (name tag, hw book, textbook, workbook, notebook, folder, pencils)

Homeroom:  Tomorrow is a non-rotation day.  (Schedule changes due to the afternoon pep rally.)  Phys. Ed. class will be on Tuesday. 
Tomorrow is a Spirit Day.  Students may wear NS tshirts and shorts.  Dress Code information can be reviewed on the inside of the NS calendar, online or in the handbook.

Reading:  Please cover the textbook by Tuesday.
Social Studies:  same as reading

Reading:  Students are completing the Baseline Assessment to help guide instruction especially during small group time

Social Studies:  Today, students were working with partners to practice their verbal communication skills as they were sharing their opinions.  Examples:  pros and cons of having a pet; pros and cons of exploring a "new" country

Happy First Day of School Fifth Graders!

Homeroom:  Please review, sign and return  "Beginning of Year" forms.  Also, additional papers were sent home with your child.  Students spent valuable time in their homerooms to get organized and to become familiar with each and their schedules.  Homework Books were distributed.  Please see inside of the homework book for a copy of your child's daily schedule and specials.
