 U.S. map quiz Friday.  Be able to identify any 20 states.  Students will have a list of the states to use during the quiz.

Reading:  Please bring a cereal box to school.  Students will use the cereal box to complete a variety of activities during class on Friday. 
Each student received a textbook and 2 workbooks.  Please cover the textbook by Tuesday. 

Social Studies:  Finish the U.S. map activity. Please cover the textbook by Tuesday.
Be able to label any 20 states (except Alaska and Hawaii) on the U.S. map for a quiz scheduled for Friday after Labor Day.   Students will be given a list of the states for the quiz so that they are spelled correctly.

Reading Periods 1 and 2:  Finish writing your answers on the coat of arms to tell a little bit about you.  This is the "sloppy copy" that you will use to make the good copy in class.
Note:  Books and WB were not distributed today.  Tomorrow is another day!

Social Studies:  Please cover the textbook by Tuesday.  The U.S. map is not homework.

Homeroom:  Students were reminded to return forms.  Again, thank you for returning them so quickly.

Homeroom:  Thank you for sending in the Beginning of Year Forms.  Some forms may have been returned to your child for a signature or to check a box.  Picture Day is Friday, September 6.  An order form was sent home with your child today.  Please do not send in the money before picture day. 

Period 1 Reading:  No homework;  students are completing a baseline assessment to help determine their instructional needs.  Books and workbooks will be issued on Wednesday.
Period 2 Reading:  same as Period 1
Period 3 Social Studies:  No homework; books will be issued on Wednesday
Period 4 Social Studies:  No homework; students were issued their textbooks today; please cover the book by Tuesday.
