Reading:  Quiz Thursday on Subjects and Predicates.  Finish Vocabulary WS for Carrie the Calf.  You must include an example of a context clue from the passage that would help you figure out the meaning of the word.

Social Studies Period 3:  Finish coloring map (many of you are finished or nearly finished) and complete the WS.

Social Studies Period 4:  Finish coloring map
Label the states with the 2-letter abbreviation.
Color each region.
Draw a map key at the bottom of your map to show what each color represents.

Reading:  no homework
Today we read "Punctuation Takes a Vacation."  Students practiced writing a quality response by including text evidence.  This activity was completed in their notebooks. 
Also, students responded to a poem in writing.  (What does the poem bring to mind for you?  Do certain lines remind you of something?)

Social Studies:  Students are completing map work in the text to learn about the U.S. Regions.
Please remember to get your test signed if there is a "star" on the bottom of the page.

Reading/Language Arts:  Spelling Test is Monday on words 1-20 from SWB page 5. 
Choose 10 words (the ones you need to practice) from SWB page 5 and write them 3x each. 
Limerick is due Monday.  Follow the format explained in class.  You may write the limerick in your notebook.  Spelling always counts.

Social Studies:  Students finished quiz and we began to practice finding distance between 2 locations on a map just in case GPS does not work!

Read Frindle.
Finish drawings on the Quick Write/Quick Draw Activity that we worked on together to summarize Homework Help.

Social Studies:  If you scored 80% or lower on the U.S. Map quiz, then you will be retested on Friday.  You can improve.

Also, a quiz will be given next Tuesday.  Study guide was provided.  Be able to identify continents and oceans.  Know how to label cardinal and intermediate directions.  Also, study the completion questions about latitude, longitude, globe, equator and Prime Meridian.  Students were guided/instructed to label the papers that they need to study for this quiz and put them in their green folders.
